Luxembourg producer of natural mineral waters

Founded in 1955 in the beautiful village of Rosport, Sources Rosport produces sparkling and non-sparkling natural mineral waters. Over the years, this small Luxembourgish company has become the local expert in the field.

The aim of this 100% Luxembourg-owned SME is not only to win over thousands of consumers with the unique taste of its mineral waters, which are the richest and most balanced mineral composition in the country, but also to offer a wide range of eco-responsible packaging.

The ‘natural mineral water’ designation

In order to receive the ‘natural mineral water’ designation, a number of criteria must be met:

  • Its mineral content and its original purity. In fact, natural mineral water must be perfectly drinkable when it emerges from the source – this is known as original purity. The microbiological flora must therefore be in perfect balance, and the water must comply with very strict specifications imposed by current legislation on natural mineral water. As for the mineral salts, these cannot vary over time, and must therefore, in all circumstances, correspond to the values given on the label.
  • Natural mineral water of a specific brand must always come from a single source. This ensures that its mineral composition remains constant.
  • From the source to the bottle, the water cannot come into contact with the outside world at any time, and therefore cannot be transported.
  • Its original purity must be guaranteed. It is never treated, as can be the case for drinking water.

These demanding criteria make natural mineral water the most controlled of all food products.

The machines and filling line were installed during the particularly hot summer of 1959. A green bottle in the Art Deco style was chosen to contain Rosport water.
